About

The Cheakamus Centre is a unique environmental learning centre designed to provide exceptional learning and hospitality experiences inspired by nature. The Cheakamus Centre, home of the treasured North Vancouver Outdoor School, is situated on 420-acres of ecological reserve in the Cheakamus River Valley near Squamish, BC.

The Centre

In nature’s classroom participants can wander under 1,000-year-old cedars; gaze at hundreds of wintering bald eagles; watch a goat kid being born or marvel at thousands of spawning salmon. Learners and visitors are inspired to make more informed environmentally sustainable decisions through field study, outdoor recreation and other direct experiences in nature that instill a sense of respect and appreciation of the natural world.

The Cheakamus Centre offers year-round environmental education programs, accommodations, catering services, meeting and event space for adults and children of all ages. A vision of the North Vancouver School District, in partnership with Listel Canada, a leader in sustainable hospitality, the Cheakamus Center is the natural place for inspiration, discovery and celebration.
